Pocket Circuit Racing is more than just a mini-game!

Dear Sega,

I recently have been playing Yakuza 0 on Twitch and had the great fortune of finding this gem of a game:

I would like to attempt to convince Sega and anyone reading this as to why this “mini-game” deserves to be more than just this.

Pocket Circuit Racing is an incredible creation that involves you racing miniature cars on race tracks trying to finish with the fastest time possible while also avoiding launching your hot wheels off the track and disqualifying you from the race. I personally blame RNG but that’s another story.

While it is a side story in Yakuza, which in my heart was the main attraction, there was a likeable cast of characters and heart warming interactions between them and Kiryu.

What’s interesting about this game is that you can also customize the look and performance of your car by acquiring different parts and designs in order to achieve the most optimal build for each track

And if that isn’t enough to compel the most hardcore of racing enthusiasts, they even added a custom track builder with options to limit the amount of higher level parts, change the height of the race tracks, add upside-down loops, gravity walls and the unforgiving jumps that kill almost every run.

Where am I going with this raving assessment of a minigame?

THIS DESERVES A STAND-ALONE TITLE

Remember the game Trials?

Imagine the concept of online leader-boards, customizable vehicles, online track building, new games modes, multiplayer races and hey why not have an original story?

The formula is already there. All it needs are the pretty touch ups and you have the hot wheels racing simulator that will be unmatched, because there really isn’t anything like it.

I am happy that at least this game makes a return in other Yakuza titles, but I also can’t stop thinking about how much more this could be.

If Sega happens to see this or has even thought about this idea, I would absolutely support this idea and volunteer to test it out.

As always,

Brother Ghesh out~
